He Is Risen, He Is Not Here

Pastor Armstead’s Full Resurrection Sermon – audio only:he-is-risen-sermon

[podloveaudio src=”http://firstunionbc.org/audio/he-is-risen-040812.mp3″]

The resurrection of Jesus speaks of more than an empty tomb.  Read Mark 16:1-8

It is also proof that circumstances can’t keep you down. The same power that lifted Jesus from the grave is the power that will lift you above the ashes of what you’re going through.

Jesus not only rose, he relocated; He showed up in another place. In the power of Jesus, you are freed from circumstances; you will be moved from where you are to where you need to be.

Jesus is now repositioned at the right hand of the Father interceding for us. Knowing this, life’s got to be better, not only in the hereafter, but in the here and now of the mind, heart and spirit.

The week of Jesus’ passion is called Holy Week in Christianity. The Last Days of Jesus on earth did not end with his death. They extended beyond his resurrection for forty days and then he ascended to heaven before hundreds of eyewitnesses. It was ten days later that his disciples received the outpouring of Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

Win Every Wednesday!

First Union BC is on the move with a new prayer initiative, and we are encouraging all members and friends to participate. As you recall, there was a time when you had to travel to the church for early morning prayer.  This meant getting up extra early, getting dressed, and getting to the meeting place. But now you can join from the convenience and comfort of your own home.

Why you should be there…

Prayer is a mainstay of the growing believer. It establishes you in a mature relationship with God. It helps you to grow out of that  “self-focused” mindset because your very soul will begin to prosper in ways beyond your imagination. [ 3 John 1:2 ] When that happens, your life and circumstances will also flourish in desirable ways.

Another reason is that when believers gather in prayer, the spirit of Lord draws near. [ Matthew 18:20 ] When that happens, it is possible for you to pray for others out of love and compassion, while being built up yourself at the same time.

How you can be there…

The Spirit of God is moving and we are moving too! Join us at 6:00 am every Wednesday morning. Dial 1-605-475-4850 and listen for the prompt. Then enter the access code: 303105#. As toll charges may apply, please check your phone service plan. And, of course, invite your God-loving friends and family.
